Some of you might notice, some of you might not xD;; but this is a male-ified version of my OC Rachel n.n It just hit me one day that extremely many of my main characters in The Legend is females... and then I started woundering who I could change into male without it ruining too much - and realized that it actually made a lot more sense if Rachel was a guy xD;; and so I also changed her name to Raqael, which I like pretty much =w=
So far it's just a sketch and I don't think it'll pass that point.. I like the drawing and his design, but not enough so that I'll actually color it xD;; I'm too lazy and busy... and at the moment sick too >__>;; The pose dosn't make much sense, since I originally inteded that he should hold a weapon and do some magic stuff with his other hand... now it just looks kinda funny xD;;
Not venturing into critique, knowing myself this will be rather corny _ _
I've never read the story so it doesn't sort under my 'area' if Rachel makes more sense as a guy or not, but I do remember in my own writing exploits that I did tend to overcount the female populace and just write them all some boyfriends _ _... oddly the tendency is actually tipped the other way now - I tend to have too many male characters, maybe because they're more decisive (if they're Shintai anyway...)
That said, let's have a look at the drawing itself.
I love the pose. It's real sort of plucky, show-offish and sort of just screams "F*** YEAH!" in a nice sort of fashion I'd have a word for if I was slightly more adept at not having the written English of a self-taught video-gamer. I also like how you actually transferred her standard outfit and made it work on a male body. In terms of costume design it's as good as ever. You have a good eye for detail.
I wish I could do hair like that. I guess I should really just try and practice it instead of always opting for lazy and easy.
If I were to say one bad thing, I... *sigh* It's a small point, but the smile makes me think of Jaws. It's just the relative size of the line marking his teeth in the middle compared to the size of the mouth that creates the effect, which you couldn't really have done anything about anyway.
All in all though, it's real nice.
